Meals Most moms cringe at the "What's for dinner?" question. I've found the easiest way to deal with this question is to create a menu each week. I like to cook on Sunday afternoon and have everything ready for the week. This way, I have a ready answer to the the question and makes nights with activities easier.
LISTS
I keep an ongoing list of groceries on the computer. Everything that we get everyweek is on the top. The bottom portion changes depending on what we are going to eat this week. Make your list then check the fridge and pantry. No need to buy something you already have. FROZEN ENTREESAn easy way to serve a good meal is to use frozen family sized entrees. We usually eat frozen lasagna once a week. I save the lasagna for a practice or game night. The boys eat it without a fuss and clean up is easy. KID-FRIENDLYIt is worth your time to search out some kid-friendly entrees. I'll be sending some of our favorite in our weekly newsletter. You can find others at www.allrecipes.com Click here for a great cookbook for kids This cookbook has awesome recipes for picky eaters CROCK POTIf you don't want to keep a stocked fridge for the week, the crock pot is a life saver! You throw ingredients in before you leave in the morning and dinner is practically ready when you get home. This cookbook has wonderful crockpot recipes. I also recommend the crockpot starters you can find in the frozen food section. LUNCHESMy kids are pretty complaint so they will put up the same lunch menus each week. Before school starts, I set up a menu. We try it out until it works then it's set. They get the same thing each week. There might be small changes, like the day of the week something is served or a surprise lunchable. But it's basically the same.
