CLOSET
The goal of parents should be to create kids who can take care of themselves. A closet is a good first step to self sufficent kids.

We love blankets at our house so we have a large container in the bottom of the boys' closet for blanets. They know where to get and put up blankets.

We also use a hanging organizer in the boy's closet. It has five hanging cubies. We have used this two ways.

The first is to choose five outfits on Sunday afternoon for the week. Each day's outfit goes in a cubie. This makes each morning very easy!

The second way is to sort clothes. Baseball uniforms in one cubie. White undershirts in one. Long sleeve t-shirts in one. After school play t-shirts in another.

However you choose to set up you kid's closets, make sure to clean them out at least twice a year. I try to clean out our closets three times a year: before school starts, when it gets cold, and when it gets warmer. This helps me keep only the clothes the boys can wear available. No fights about wanting to wear shorts in January.

Clothes that don't fit are either given away or saved for another family member. Clothes with stains, are worn out, or ripped go in the trash. Don't give these to Good Will! People who need help don't need nasty clothes!
